Hello and Welcome Letter!

Hello!

I am Coach McMillen. This is my 6th year as Cross Country and Distance Track coach here at Heights.

If you don't know what cross country is, it is best described as competitive running over natural terrain. Runners race for 5km/3.1mi at all levels - varsity, junior varsity, boys, and girls. 

Cross country tends to be a sport that students are too afraid to try. All I can say is don't knock it until you try it! If you can physically move your body into a running motion, then you can do cross country! We also have a complete sense of team unity. Every athlete runs the same races, does the same workouts, and contributes the same amount. We are all equals and treat each other as such.

Our season will have have 7 regular season races plus Regionals and State.
